Introduction

The Bluebuck (Hippotragus leucophaeus) was an ancestor of the Arabian Oryx and many of the 140 species of cloven-hoofed mammals part of the family Bovidae. The Bluebuck was predicted to have lived shortly after the last Ice Age, which was 10,000 years ago up to 1800 when it became extinct, being the first large African mammal to go into extinction during historic times.
